Air and Space Law (Advanced LL.M.)

Career preparation

The programme incorporates active engagement with the professional field through site visits, professional skills trainings, moot court and an internship.

During the programme, you will engage in frequent visits to air and space organisations to learn about their work and to expand your professional network. Furthermore, you will take a study trip to visit the European Commission in Brussels and Luxembourg. You will also be encouraged to take advantage of the institute’s close proximity to organisations and institutions such as:

  • International Court of Justice
  • European Space Agency (ESA, ESTEC)
  • Eurocontrol
  • Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA)
  • UN COPUOS

A number of the programme’s instructors either have been or still are actively involved in the legal or business arena, and practising professionals are invited to teach as guest lecturers. This gives you the opportunity to interact with them and learn about their work and the latest developments in the field.

During the moot court competition, you will receive training and gain experience in research, analysis, legal writing, and pleading and arguing a case. You will gain additional professional expertise by conducting an internship at an institution that deals with either air or space law.

Career services

One of the biggest assets you will have in your career is your professional network. Through your interactions with professionals in the classroom, as well as during your internship, study trip and site visits, you can begin to build your own international network. These contacts could greatly enhance your career prospects, as they often help with job leads and recommendations.

Every year a special Career Week is organised for all Advanced Master’s students which includes various workshops, presentations and trainings.
