Application deadlines

Each year, Leiden University College The Hague selects 200 students. Our selection process is divided in two round: Early Bird and Regular. Keep reading to find out when they are, and why you should consider applying early.

Two deadlines

Our application system opens on the first of October year year. As such, it is be possible to submit an application for September 2026 from 1 October 2025 onwards. To apply for LUC, you need to submit an application in Studielink and the Leiden University application portal (uSis). When you submit your application affects when your application will be processed and reviewed. We encourage you to apply by the early bird deadline if you are able to, because it has a couple of advantages:

You will hear the outcome of the selection process earlier. You can see the projected timeline in the image on this page;
If you want to apply for LUC Financial Support, you need to apply for the Early Bird deadline of 1 December 2025.
In a few situations Early Bird applicants can be re-considered for admission in the second round if they are not selected in first round.

The final deadline

15 March is the final deadline to apply to LUC. Applications submitted in the online application portal on 16 March 2026 or later will not be considered for admission.
