Academy of Creative and Performing Arts (ACPA)

Interested in combining your Leiden Humanities Bachelor programme with courses in the fine arts? With the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts (ACPA) it’s possible! ACPA is a research institute, a collaboration that combines the strengths of  Leiden University and the Royal Academy of Art The Hague. In addition to research, ACPA is an intersectional organisation that offers academic education for art students, arts education for students of Leiden University, and cultural events that bridge art and science.

Bachelor Honours Education

Are you a curious and motivated bachelor’s student? The Honours Academy of Leiden University offers various kinds of extracurricular education, ranging from long-running programmes to short-term courses.

Honours College

Are you interested in an extra challenge alongside your studies? Join the Honours College. You take on a 30 EC programme to broaden and deepen your knowledge and skills, at your own or another faculty. The programme is small-scale and has plenty of options. You meet students from other disciplines and learn to look beyond the borders of your own academic field.

Bachelor Honours Classes

Would you like to step outside your comfort zone? Bachelor Honours Classes (5 EC) are challenging courses that broaden the scope of your regular study, with plenty of room for personal attention. For Honours College students, taking a Bachelor Honours Class is mandatory, but non-honours students are encouraged to apply as well.

LDE Bachelor Honours Programme Sustainability

Do you want to learn more about sustainability? Join the LDE Bachelor Honours Programme Sustainability (15 EC), a one-year interdisciplinary programme accessible to second and third-year bachelor’s students. You will gain relevant knowledge, develop skills and work on current sustainability challenges. This programme is a collaboration between Leiden University, TU Delft and Erasmus University Rotterdam (LDE). Students from all three universities can participate.

Master Honours Classes & Challenges

Some project-based challenges of the Master Honours Classes & Challenges are also available for advanced bachelor's students. You will tackle a specific challenge of a partner organisation in a small interdisciplinary team.
