Central Innovation District

The Central Innovation District (CID) forms the economic heart of the city of The Hague.

An important part of the government is concentrated in the CID along with knowledge institutions, business service providers and IT companies. Around a third of the jobs in The Hague are in this area. The CID area has no clear boundaries and is part of a larger ecosystem in the city and region.

The CID can be divided into three areas:

  • Around The Hague Central Station
  • Around Laan van NOI
  • Bickhorst and Bickhaven

Leiden University’s Campus The Hague is located in the area around The Hague Central Station. This area, also known as Campus Boulevard, is an area of science, culture and governance.
