Short abstract

Early design stages provide most leverage for resource-efficient technologies, but prospective environmental assessment is rarely performed due to a lack of knowledge, data, and analysis tools. We provide education and software enabling industry and academia to screen emerging technologies for environmental hotspots. This is critical for a sustainable raw materials management, security of supply, resource-efficiency, circularity, as well as the competitiveness of the European industry.

Project description

In MIN-TEA we will:

  • Develop teaching material for prospective Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and conduct a number of courses for students and professionals;
  • Develop a software implementation of a streamlined prospective LCA methodology to support future prospective LCA applications in research and industry / technology development.
