The space between galaxies is filled with a hot gas of millions of degrees, which emits X-ray radiation. Characterizing clusters is hard because there are so few and the evolve very slowly, to understand them better simulations are almost always needed. This thesis deals with the gas in clusters in some of the largest simulations. It studies idealized interactions of such gas, compares the clusters in the simulation with observations, delves into the intricacies of measuring the mass of such clusters, and studies correlations between different physical quantities.
