Jasmijn Rana is universitair docent aan het Leids Instituut voor Culturele Antropologie en Ontwikkelingssociologie. Ze heeft uitgebreide ervaring met onderzoek naar sportparticipatie van moslimvrouwen in Nederland en Marokko en naar diversiteit in erfgoedproductie. Haar belangrijkste onderzoeksgebieden richten zich op de alledaagse geleefde relaties tussen actoren/groepen en de staat en de interacties daarvan met ras/etniciteit, gender en religie.
