Jacqueline Hodge heeft een Bachelor of Science degree in Natuurkunde van de California Polytechnic State University en een Master of Science degree in Natuurkunde van de Universiteit van Californië. Zij behaalde haar PhD bij de Universiteit van Californië. Momenteel is zij een Assistant Professor bij de Sterrewacht Leiden waar ze observaties van verre sterrenstelsels gebruikt om daarvan de evolutie door de kosmische tijd heen te bestuderen.
