Adam Lichtenheld is universitair docent Peace Studies, Conflict Resolution en International Relations aan het Institute of Security and Global Affairs (ISGA), waar hij deel uitmaakt van de onderzoeksgroep War, Peace and Justice. Zijn onderzoek richt zich op de dynamiek van gedwongen migratie, gewapende conflicten, politiek geweld, vredesopbouw en post-conflictontwikkeling, met een regionale focus op Afrika en het Midden-Oosten.
Adam Lichtenheld is universitair docent Peace Studies, Conflict Resolution en International Relations aan het Institute of Security and Global Affairs (ISGA), waar hij deel uitmaakt van de onderzoeksgroep War, Peace and Justice. Zijn onderzoek richt zich op de dynamiek van gedwongen migratie, gewapende conflicten, politiek geweld, vredesopbouw en post-conflictontwikkeling, met een regionale focus op Afrika en het Midden-Oosten.
Naast zijn academische werkzaamheden werkt hij samen met overheden, internationale donoren en ngo’s aan het ontwerpen en evalueren van humanitaire programma’s, ontwikkelingsprojecten en initiatieven voor vredesopbouw in twaalf verschillende landen. Daarbij heeft hij veldonderzoek verricht in Afghanistan, Irak, Kenia, Libanon, Libië, Niger, Nigeria, Syrië en Oeganda.
