Timo Slootweg studied Philosophy (UL) and History (EUR). He taught Philosophy of History in Rotterdam. Since 2004 he has been teaching Philosophy of Law and Ethics at the University of Leiden. His dissertation dealt with the ethical meaning of time, history and historical consciousness in the philosophies of Hegel, Heidegger and Derrida (2000). His publications are concerned with the relation between Law and Love; Knowledge and Faith; Christian Existentialism and Personalism; Dialectical and Dialogical theology. In 2016 he published: Uit de schaduw van de wet. Inleiding tot de esthetica van het recht.
