Suzy Duivenvoorde is a PhD researcher at the Department of Child Law, Institute for Private Law.
Suzy Duivenvoorde obtained a bachelor's degree in Law (cum laude) at the University of Amsterdam. After the bachelor, she followed the master Public International Law, with a specialisation in human rights law, at the University of Amsterdam and the master Child Law at Leiden University. She completed the master Public International Law in 2016 en the master Child Law in 2017 (cum laude).
During her studies, Suzy did several internships at law firms and at the Dutch Central authority for International Children’s Issues (Ministry of Justice and Security). Moreover, she participated in research projects that were carried out by Leiden University and by the Children’s Ombudsman. From 2017 until 2019 Suzy worked as a senior legal assistant in the Family- and Juvenile law department of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal.
In January 2020 Suzy started her PhD research, concerning the implication of child protection measures in cases of parental disputes (high conflict divorces).
