Rikardt Kemp is currently busy with his PhD research at the Department of Business Studies of the Leiden Law School. The working title for his thesis is ‘Business Model Dynamics in the Legal Industry’ and specifically focuses how law firms as Knowledge Intensive Businesses apply Business Model Adaptation and Business Model Innovation in the platform economy.
With a strong belief that you should never stop learning and growing, Rikardt is innately curious and constantly challenges the boundaries in his industry and thinks of himself as a knowledge worker with a passion for innovation, technology and strategic planning.
Rikardt has a rich background in professional services and ICT, starting with Andersen, KPMG, and ENSafrica and, later, in market planning with Vodafone and BlackBerry. At Vodafone (South Africa) he was responsible for market insight, strategic planning and innovation in the enterprise business unit. He also gained valuable emerging market experience when he oversaw market planning for BlackBerry in Africa, which included insight and the development of and contribution to regional business, market, and channel strategies.
Rikardt’s academic interests have always gravitated to topics that relate to technology driven industry disruption and he has recently taken a specific interest in service innovation in Professional Service Firms.
