Education and research staff member
Rehana Dole has been working as a research and education staff member at the Department of child law, Institute of Private Law since 15 September 2022.
Rehana Dole joined the Research and Education staff in the Child Law Department at Leiden University on the 15th of September 2022. She holds an LL.B. (Hons) degree in Law from the University of London and was called to the Bar before the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2018. She also holds an Advanced LL.M. degree in International Children's Rights from Leiden University. Prior to this Rehana has over five years of work experience in the non for profit sector in Sri Lanka. She has worked as a full-time consultant for UNICEF Sri Lanka for over 4 years working on child justice, child protection and child rights monitoring. She also has experience working with children and communities on peacebuilding and reconciliation in NGOs and INGOs in Sri Lanka. She will be coordinating the Private International Law course for the Advanced Master in International Children's Rights. She will also be acting as the managing editor of the Leiden Children's Rights Observatory and engage in research for a project for UNICEF HQ on legislative reform.
