He has previously worked at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition, and Behaviour where he investigated how neural responses to stress are linked to real-life responses to stress. He additionally worked as a postdoc at the Radboudumc investigating memory bias dynamics in depression in real-life and their neural underpinnings. Currently, Rayyan works as a postdoc on the WARN-D study, with the aim of building machine learning models that leverage smartphone and smartwatch data for the prediction of depression in daily life. His interests primarily lie in real-life assessment, and building bridges between lab work and real-life measurement.
