Michael Sampson is Assistant Professor of International Relations at the Institute of Political Science. He teaches on international political economy and his research focuses primarily on the strategic and distributional consequences of trade contracts and international agreements more generally.
He received his DPhil (PhD) from the University of Oxford and is a former Procter Fellow at Princeton University and a former Fulbright Scholar. He also holds an MPhil (with distinction) in International Relations from the University of Oxford. Before coming to Leiden he was a college lecturer in international relations at University College and Hertford College, Oxford.
Michael Sampson is available to supervise PhD students and invites PhD research proposals in the areas of:
