Research

I am fascinated by how doing research using varied languages, tools and methodologies challenges historical knowledge. My PhD research is a comparative study of Spanish and Dutch chronicles written during the Revolt in the Low Countries (1568-1648). Bringing them together reveals a fascinating new face of the conflict. As a digital historian, I focus on tool criticism. I believe a digital approach has much to offer to learning on the complexity of transnational history. Moreover, digital tools offer unprecedented opportunities for sharing research results with a broad public.

Grants & Awards

Winner of Essay Price 'Digital Humanities' awarded by the Huizinga Instituut (2016)

Curriculum vitae

I obtained my BA in History from Universitat de Barcelona. After graduating from the Research Master in History at the University of Amsterdam, I have worked on Digital Humanities projects at the UvA and the Huygens ING. In the last years I have combined research on the Dutch Revolt from a transnational perspective with teaching digital tool criticism for historians.
