Júlia is a PhD Fellow in Digitalisation and Public Policy at The Hague Centre for Digital Governance.
Her research lies at the intersection between data, power and state control in the digital era. She examines how underlying power configurations shape the emergence of data policies and the deployment of digital applications, and the derived implications for the exercise of state control. Her work is particularly focused on issues concerning surveillance, political control, agency, accountability and access to public information, especially in Southeast Asian contexts. She teaches several courses in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs at the Institute of Public Administration.
Júlia has a background in Economics and International Development, and experience as a development practitioner in Cambodia.
