Jelena Vicic is Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs at Leiden University. Jelena is interested in how states compete in the international system by using cyber capabilities as a tool of statecraft.

Jelena Vicic is Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs at Leiden University. She is a research collaborator at the Center for Peace and Security Studies (cPASS) and Center for Cybersecurity Strategy and Policy (CCSP). Her work examines international conflict and technology, with the focus on topics such as strategic competition, cyber escalation, and disinformation. Currently, Jelena is working on projects related to these topics, as well as several projects on data measurement challenges in cyber events data.

 

Jelena holds a PhD from University of Cincinnati, MA from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, and BA from American University in Bulgaria.
