Ellen van Beukering-Rosmuller
E.J.M. van Beukering-Rosmuller is connected to the Institute for Private Law since 1 September 2010.
E.J.M. (Ellen) van Beukering-Rosmuller teaches civil procedural law. She possesses scholarly and practical experience in various types of civil dispute resolution.
She is the author of various books and articles. Her current research focuses on new developments in alternative dispute resolution, such as the effect EU legislation with regard to ADR/mediation has on Dutch civil (procedural) law. A further research theme is the integration of mediation into other dispute resolution procedures, such as the insertion of mediation into the formal legal framework of Dutch ADR organizations for consumer disputes. Furthermore classical legal themes concerning the mediation procedure continue to be the object of her research.

Advisor, i.a. member of the Advisory committee on the evaluation assessing the performance of the Dutch Foundation for Consumer Complaints Boards (December 2017-June 2018).
Ellen van Beukering studied Dutch law at Nijmegen University and obtained her master’s degree (cum laude) in 1987. She obtained her doctorate at the same university in 1992.
Her dissertation is in the area of transport law and is entitled ‘De expeditie-overeenkomst’.
