Dr van Beukering-Rosmuller joined the Institute of Private Law on 1 September 2010.
E.J.M. (Ellen) van Beukering-Rosmuller teaches civil procedural law. She possesses scholarly and practical experience in several types of civil dispute resolution.
She is the author of various books and articles. Her current research focuses on the legal framework of ADR in civil disputes, from a national and a European/international perspective. The latter primarily involves European legislation and case law and their effect on the Dutch civil legal order. The (UN-)Singapore Convention is also discussed in her work. A further research theme is the integration of mediation (insights) into other dispute resolution procedures (state court litigation, arbitration, binding advice). Furthermore classical legal themes concerning the mediation procedure continue to be the object of research.
Member of the editorial board of Tijdschrift voor Arbitrage. Advisor on the ADR/mediation legal framework.
Ellen van Beukering studied Dutch law at Nijmegen University and obtained her master’s degree (cum laude) in 1987. She obtained her doctorate at the same university in 1992. Her dissertation is in the area of transport law.
