Ellen van Beukering-Rosmuller teaches Civil Procedural Law. She has both academic and practical experience in various types of civil dispute resolution.

Beukering-Rosmuller has written a number of books and articles. Her current research focuses on new developments in alternative dispute resolution such as the effect of EU legislation with regard to ADR/mediation on Dutch civil (procedural) law. A further research topic is the integration of mediation into other dispute resolution procedures such as the insertion of mediation into the formal legal framework of Dutch ADR organisations for consumer disputes. She continues to research classical legal themes concerning the mediation procedure.

Member of the Editorial Board of Tijdschrift voor Arbitrage.
Advisor, i.a. member of the Advisory Committee on the evaluation assessing the performance of the Dutch Foundation for Consumer Complaints Boards (December 2017 to June 2018).

Ellen van Beukering studied Dutch Law at Nijmegen University and obtained her master’s degree (cum laude) in 1987. She obtained her PhD at the same university in 1992. Her thesis topic was on an aspect of transport law and was entitled ‘De expeditie-overeenkomst’.
