Educational Background: M.Sc Bioinformatics and Systems Biology, B.Sc Simulation Technology The aim of this PhD project is to use mathematical modeling approaches to study antimicrobial resistance of microbial populations in order to optimize/develop treatment strategies that can prevent or revert resistance. Deterministic as well as stochastic bottom-up modeling approaches are used to model the dynamics of microbial populations during treatment. I focus on incorporating bacterial heterogeneity and pathogen-host interactions that contribute towards resistance development and treatment failure.
