Optimality in plant properties and processing.

Program

• Plant processing is a novel topic studied within PBDL, with possible applications to improve the use of natural products. In collaboration with Fytagoras, we are studying the optimization of Ginseng extraction from plant material.
• In the research direction as summarized above, we are considering optimal stomatal pattering and leaf thickness in a PhD project, in collaboration with Dr. M. Emmerich (Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Sciences, LIACS).
