Within this research theme, we run number of projects that investigate macrophage function in the development, progression and regression of atherosclerosis. We focus, amongst others, on cholesterol transporters, scavenger receptors and on lipoprotein metabolism, for which we use advanced research tools such as bone marrow transplantation and laser capture microdissection.
