Grégory Schneider appointed Professor of Chemical Nanotechnology

Grégory Schneider has been appointed Professor of Chemical Nanotechnology at the Leiden Institute of Chemistry (LIC) as of 1 May. ‘This title really expresses my dedication to science and teaching.’

Schneider conducts research into the chemical aspects of nanotechnology, with a particular focus on bridging molecular and macromolecular systems in devices. His research includes work on single molecule sensors and selective membranes, where chemistry closely intersects with physics, nanotechnology, and biology. Schneider’s group investigates applications of graphene and other ultrathin materials for sensing and energy-related technologies.

Supporting new generations of researchers

Schneider feels honoured to receive this recognition. ‘I would like to thank all the current and past members of my team and all my colleagues for the inspirational time we had over the years. I look forward to continue training multidisciplinary researchers and to support them in their scientific journey and desired career paths.’
