Eduard Fosch-Villaronga on JUST-AI Jean Monnet Podcast
The Justice and AI Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence is striving to become a European hub of excellence on fairness in AI. Eduard Fosch-Villaronga was invited to explain the role of fairness in robots and AI systems.
How can robots and AI systems enhance our health and promote inclusivity? These are the issues that Eduard Fosch Villaronga seeks to answer through the groundbreaking research he is conducting within the Safe & Sound and BIAS projects. Eduard kindly agreed to be the first expert to be interviewed by Ljupcho Grozdanovski from the University of Liรจge.
As an Associate Professor at Leiden University, Eduard and his team are currently conducting arduous but necessary and rewarding research into how care robots and recruitment algorithms can and should be designed to enhance human abilities and equality. One of the deliverables of the ERC StG Safe and Sound and the BIAS projects is to advise policymakers on the best ways to regulate care robots on the one hand and AI systems used in the labour market on the other.
