During the opening of the Faculty year on 5 September 2023, Barend Barentsen, Professor of Labour Law, and Annemarie Drahmann, Associate Professor of Constitutional and Administrative Law, were presented with the JSVO Teaching Awards 22-23.

Barend Barentsen received the JSVO teaching award for best lecturer of the Academic Year 22-23. One student even stated: 'This man is just amazing, period!'

For the first time ever, an award was also presented for the best in-house lecturer of the Leiden Law Academy. Annemarie Drahmann teaches several courses within the Academy and was praised for the time she takes during the course to provide extensive and in-depth information about the course materials and the topics. As well as the pleasant and interactive way in which she delivers the lectures. She was rated 9.12 by participants!
