Just published: European Banking and Financial Law (Second Edition)

Authors: Matthias Haentjens, Pierre de Gioia Carabellese

Over the last few decades, banks, insurers, pension funds, investment firms and other financial institutions have become subject to substantially more legislation. This is especially so for the EU. In addition to previous regulatory intensification, Brexit is also causing profound changes to the dynamics of EU financial regulation. The book European Banking and Financial Law serves as a comprehensive introduction to European banking and financial law and, more specifically, aforementioned developments.

The Second Edition has been completely revised. While the basic structure of the First Edition has been maintained, all chapters have been thoroughly rewritten, restructured and updated to new relevant legislation and case law. Furthermore, attention is given to new topics such as shadow banking and credit rating agencies. In addition, student questions and further reading suggestions have been updated and expanded.
