Interaction between private and public law: Family law from a socio-legal perspective

On Friday 24 February Prof. Judith Masson, professor of Socio-legal Studies at Bristol University and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Science in the U.K., will deliver a lecture within the Leiden Socio-Legal Series.

In her lecture Prof. Masson will pay attention to the interaction between private and public law in cases of family law, as well as the way in which socio-legal research may provide understandings in the study of the dynamics in the courtroom in family and juvenile court cases. The department of Child Law is also involved in organizing this lecture. During her visit to Leiden, Prof. Masson will give a guest lecture in the course ‘Child Protection and Children’s Rights.
