Discussing Business Rescue in Cascais
From 21-22 September 2016, The INSOL Europe Academic Forum met in Cascais (Portugal). The Business Rescue in Insolvency Law project team of the European Law Institute was present with two research assistents.
Profs. Bob Wessels (emeritus Leiden) and Stephan Madaus presented parts of the draft report on Business rescue. Dr Samantha Renssen, Maasticht University presented a comparative study of corporate dissolution. Gert-Jan Boon, Leiden Law School adressed the who and why of ‘stakeholders’ involved in the European Commission’s work in developing rules for the harmonisation of matters of restructuring and insolvency in the EU. Participants in very valuable discussions included prof. Ignacio Tirado (Madrid), prof. Christoph Paulus (Berlin), Paulo Castagna (UniCredit Bank, Germany), prof. Rolef de Weijs (Amsterdam Univ), prof. Reinout Vriesendorp (De Brauw; Leiden Law School) and Grant Jones (Simmons Gainsford Gibraltar LLP).
