Leiden's first professor in International Studies
The Board of Governors of Leiden University has confirmed the appointment of Professor André Gerrits (Institute for History, currently in the field of Russian Politics and History) to the field of International Studies and Global Politics, commencing October 1st 2015.
The appointment of Professor André Gerrits is the first appointment at the professorial level for International Studies at Leiden University.
The International Studies programme started in September 2012. The bachelor programme is located in The Hague, and is home to approximately 1000 students. The master specialization in International Studies, together with the specialization in European Union Studies, is an integral component of the MA International Relations programme, which attracts over 100 students per year to Leiden. International Studies is closely linked to the other degree programmes and Institutes of the Faculty of Humanities.
