The Leiden University Centre Theoretical Philosophy is pleased to announce a lecture by Dr. Claudio Calosi, Associate Professor Logica e filosofia della scienza at the Ca'Foscari University of Venice.
Abstract
Consider the following, suggestive monistic picture. The monist starts from the most encompassing whole, the universe, and constructs its parts out of it. These constructed parts are derivative from the universe exactly because they are constructed out of it. The talk outlines a possible detailed, thorough, (formally) rigorous theory that captures such compelling picture.
All are welcome!
