We are pleased to announce that Dr. Ken Jacobson will give the next LED3 Talk on July 10th 2023, titled ‘Designing Modulators of Purinergic Signaling for Chronic Disease Treatment.’ Dr. Jacobson is Chief of the Molecular Recognition Section, Laboratory of Bioorganic Chemistry, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), National Institutes of Health.

His research focuses on the relationship between drug structures and biological activity, specifically to develop drugs that act as agonists or antagonists of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). His current focus is on receptors for purines, encompassing both adenosine receptors and P2 receptors, which are activated by ATP, UTP and other extracellular nucleotides.
