Step 5: Complete the online matching module

As part of your application, you will have to participate in an online matching module. This will help you decide whether this is the right programme for you. Matching is compulsory but not binding: it is up to you whether you start the programme.

How does it work?

Submit an enrolment request in Studielink in time. You do not need to register separately for matching.

  • Activate your ULCN account as soon as you receive confirmation of your enrolment request, which includes your login details.
  • Wait for your invitation to the matching module. From 1 December onwards, you will receive an email with a link to the module within 2 weeks of submitting your enrolment request.
  • Complete the matching between 1 December and 31 August.
  • You will receive confirmation for completing the matching module within 24 hours.
  • Continue with your application. You can do so within 2 weeks, as soon as uSis has registered your matching completed under Enrol in programme(s) » Enrolment. Check this regularly.

Not received an email? Please check your spam folder. If the mail isn't there either, contact the Student Affairs Front Office.

About matching

Matching helps you check whether our programme’s focus and level suit your interests and abilities, so that you can start your studies with confidence. If you find that the programme isn't right for you after all, you will still have time to explore other options. So don't leave it too late.

Questions?

Frequenlty asked questions about matching

I received no email about matching

It takes approximately 2 weeks for your registration to be processed. Did you register more 2 two weeks ago? If so, please check the spam folder in your email inbox first to see if the email has ended up there. If not, please contact the Student Affairs Front Office (T: +3171-5278011).

Please note: you will not receive an email until 1 December.

Where in uSis does it show whether the matching has been processed?

In uSis, click on Apply » Enrolment. Here you can see your matching status. It might take up to 2 weeks for this to be processed (and even a little longer during the Christmas period). Unfortunately, you won’t receive a notification about this, so you’ll need to keep an eye on it yourself.

If it’s been more than 2 weeks since you received an email confirmation of completing the matching module and your matching has still not been processed in uSis, please contact us at matching@hum.leidenuniv.nl.

According to the administration system, I have not completed the matching

It may take up to 2 weeks for everything to be processed correctly. Has it been longer since you completed the matching module? If so, please double-check whether you clicked Submit on all the questionnaires.

Please contact us at matching@hum.leidenuniv.nl if, 2 weeks after completing the matching module, this still doesn't show up in uSis, even though you did complete the questionnaire by clicking the Submit button.

What if I haven’t completed the matching module on time?

If you do not complete the matching by 31 August, your application for this programme will be cancelled.

Problems logging in

If you’re having trouble logging in to the online module, there’s probably something wrong with your account. Please contact the Student Affairs Front Office (T: +3171-5278011).

Blank screens whilst working on matching

If you get a blank screen when working in the online module, it’s best to try a different browser.

Do you want to change to a different programme?

Have you applied for this programme, but changed your mind? If so, please withdraw your application in good time. If you apply for another programme, please keep a close eye on the matching deadlines.

As long as you do not withdraw your application, your application (and participation) for the compulsory matching will stand.

What is the matching deadline?

You can do this up to and including 31 August. After that date, unfortunately, it will no longer be possible to complete the matching module, and you will no longer be able to enrol in this programme.
