Route description

If you are flying to Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, the easiest way to travel to Leiden is by train. The airport includes an underground railway station, with frequent services to Leiden (as final destination, or en route to The Hague/Den Haag and Rotterdam). It takes 15-20 minutes from the airport to Leiden .

The Leiden University Visitor's Centre opposite the Station will be glad to help you with directions and other information.

Taxis and buses are located just outside the Station, to the left and right respectively. Take bus 30 to Paterstraatje, or bus 48 or 49 to Noordeinde.

On all routes to the University buildings you will find signs to car parks. The most convenient ones are located at the Haagweg (€ 4 per day) and the Maliebaan (University car park). The walk from the Haagweg to the University buildings on the Witte Singel takes about 10 minutes. If you need to go to the city centre, a free shuttle bus will take you there from the Haagweg parking.
