Zoran Gavric obtained his MSc degree in Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2002 with a master thesis in Molecular and Cellular Toxicology. The interest in applied toxicology led to a 2 -year training within the Governmental Traineeship program, with focus on regulatory toxicology within the occupational safety, consumer products safety and (industrial) chemicals risk assessment domains. After completing the traineeship and few years of experience within the government, again led by strong affinity for practical aspects of regulatory toxicology, he started working as a Safety Assessor of consumer products in the industry sector. In 2008 he founded a dedicated regulatory toxicology company The Regulatory Company (TRC), that since then supports numerous industry clients in risk assessment of chemicals and consumer products such as cosmetics, personal care and household products, foods and food supplements. Within TRC he developed the PRIMS (Product Regulatory Information Management and Safety) software that integrates compliance and safety assessment with information (safety dossier) management for cosmetics and personal care products. Since 2013 he is involved in coordinating and teaching the course (master lecture series) on Regulation of Drug Safety that in 2024 was renamed to Regulatory Toxicology - Advanced Non-animal approaches for Chemical Safety Assessment. The course focuses on understanding the regulations and regulatory requirements for chemicals and products safety, and application of NAMs in chemicals and product safety assessment in practice.
