Zafira obtained her Master's Degree in Economic and Consumer Psychology from Leiden University in 2018. Upon completing her Master's Degree, Zafira starting working as a lecturer at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia. As of September 2021, she is taking a leave from UGM to pursue her PhD at Leiden University.

Research

Zafira is mainly interested in studying how financial scarcity affects people's decision-making processes. Her PhD research is aimed at advancing the understanding of psychological and demographic factors that contribute to why self-employed workers often do not save enough, subsequently developing a behaviorally informed intervention that effectively 'nudges' them to save.
