Fields of Interest
Greek and Coptic papyrology, palaeography of documentary texts, multilingualism, communication practices in Antiquity, historical (im)politeness.
Research
Yasmine Amory is a postdoctoral fellow within the ERC project “What’s wrong? Ancient corrections in Greek papyri from Egypt (AnCor)” (PI: Joanne Stolk) at Leiden University.
She is a specialist in Byzantine Egypt, documentary papyrology and, in particular, communication practices in Late Antiquity. She has widely published about these topics, while working on editions of Greek and Coptic unpublished papyri. She believes that the visual and material aspects of ancient artefacts have a lot to say, just as their contents.
