Research

My research focuses on argumentation in health communication (PhD on argumentative discussions in medical consultation obtained in 2015). I am especially interested in the reasonableness and effectiveness of particular discussion contributions in doctor-patient interactions.

I teach courses in argumentation, rhetoric and speech communication.

• 2017-present: Postdoctoral researcher, University of Amsterdam (conducting research on the effects of metaphors in argumentation, as part of the NWO funded project Resistance to Metaphor)
• 2015-present: Lecturer, University of Amsterdam (teaching courses in argumentation and speech communication at the department of Speech Communication, Argumentation Theory and Rhetoric)
