More information about Melanie Franse

Research

Melanie Franse works as a PhD student at Leiden University and the Netherlands Institute for Forensic Psychiatry and Psychology (NIFP) within the SCIN project. This project aims to improve screening and intervention within forensic youth care. By integrating neurobiological and neuropsychological measures into current screening, forensic interventions can be deployed more effectively depending on individual needs.

Within this project, Melanie focuses specifically on the different biopsychosocial profiles of juvenile delinquents and how these profiles develop over time in terms of recidivism and resocialization.

Her research aims to identify the different mechanisms underlying the emergence and maintenance of antisocial behavior in juveniles. This knowledge can be used to personalize forensic treatment programs for adolescent offenders.
