Joe Larios is a researcher in philosophy and comparative literature whose work focuses on environmental philosophy, phenomenology, ethics, and the relationship between humans and the more-than-human world. His research brings contemporary environmental thought into dialogue with twentieth-century European philosophy, literature, and Indigenous approaches to animism and relationality. He is particularly interested in how ecological responsibility might be reconceived beyond anthropocentric frameworks. He is the author of over a dozen articles on environmental ethics, phenomenology, aesthetics, and contemporary literature.
