Hannah is research assistent for the Consolidating Empire Research Project under the direction of dr. Bleda Düring. Within this context she is working on the interpretation and publication of the stratigraphy and architecture of the Middle Assyrian Dunnu.

Hannah Plug studied Near Eastern archaeology at the Faculty of Archaeology, Leiden University, where she obtained her MA degree in 2014. She has done fieldwork in the Netherlands, Syria, Jordan and Egypt. From 2008-2010 she participated in the excavation of the Late Neolithic habitation at Tell Sabi Abyad. Currently she is also involved in the investigation of the data from the associated cemeteries.
