Jill Stein joined the Department of Child Law as a lecturer in March 2022.
After completing her bachelor's degree in Law at Utrecht University, she obtained her master's degree in Child Law at Leiden University. In the years 2012-2015 she also worked at the Department of Child Law, initially as a student assistant and later as a junior lecturer (2012-2015). She subsequently held various positions in the field of children’s, such as a researcher, and working at the Court of Appeal and the Ministry of Justice and Security. In these years she also obtained a master's degree in Applied Child and Adolescent Psychology. As a volunteer, she set up and coordinated the international volunteer team of UNICEF in The Hague and surroundings.
At Leiden University, Jill Stein teaches on the Dutch LLM in Child Law, the Advanced Master's in International Children's Rights and the bachelor's programme in Law. She also supervises students in writing their master's thesis.
