Jessica Vergeer is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. She specialises in education for children with diverse educational needs, including those with characteristics of giftedness. She has experience in primary education and is committed to inclusive, motivating learning environments that connect educational theory and practice.

Jessica Vergeer works as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences.

She previously completed her PhD research at Radboud University Nijmegen, focusing on the involvement of and interaction between teachers, parents, and school leaders in the gifted primary and secondary education. This research was part of the large-scale impact study IMAGE (Impact of Activities in Gifted Education; www
.imageproject.nl).

During her PhD trajectory, she worked as a researcher and as a teacher in primary (full-time gifted) education. Prior to this, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Pedagogical and Educational Sciences combined with a teacher training program (Academic Teacher Training for Primary Education; ALPO) in Nijmegen and completed a master’s degree in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of York (UK).
