Professional experience

Jana received her BSc degree in mechanical engineering in 2016 and her MSc degree in chemical engineering in 2018 both at  RWTH Aachen University in Germany. As a student assistant and during her theses she gained first experience with Life Cycle Assessment, mainly focused on the chemical industry and plastics.

In her MSc thesis she assessed the influence of different allocation methods on decisions between technology alternatives.

Jana started as a PhD researcher at the Industrial Ecology department of CML in November 2018.

Research topic

Jana’s research project deals with automotive components produced from recycled aluminum. She is performing a scale-up of the pilot scale process to assess the environmental performance of a future industrial scale.
