Invasive vascular surgery

The scientific chairs involves minimally invasive vascular surgery and research includes the development of surgical techniques to limit collateral damage. Also research is done on outcome of treatment and improvement of quality of care and patient safety. Besides research in vascular biology is an important part of the program and is conducted in close collaboration with partners.

Academic Carreer

Jaap Hamming graduated as MD in 1987 and completed his PhD titled Differentiated Thyroid Cancer: Current Considerations in the Diagnosis and Surgical Treatment in 1988. After surgical training he pursued a surgical carrier in vascular surgery and was appointed Professor of Surgery in 2005 with the lecture Surgical Work is Teamwork.
