Inge van der Weijden is a senior researcher and PhD coordinator at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University. She is a coordinator of the Evaluation & Culture focal area.
Inge van der Weijden is a senior researcher and PhD coordinator at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University. Since April 2025 she is a coordinator of the Evaluation & Culture focal area.
Inge has a PhD in social sciences (2007, VU Amsterdam) and worked as a postdoc at the Rathenau institute (2006-2012) on academic management & leadership.
At CWTS, Inge’s work is on researcher careers, recognition and reward strategies, and mental health in academia. She is currently involved in projects on Recognising and Rewarding Open Science (national coordination), Career Pathways of Doctorate holders (incl. postdocs) and Career Development of PhD candidates.
Inge is a coordinator of the EARLI Special Interest Group (SIG)-Researcher Education and Careers
From August 2023-April 2025 Inge worked parttime as science policy advisor at the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
