Research
My research focuses on non-standard script practices in digitally-mediated communication, with a particular emphasis on Engreek, the practice of typing English words and phrases in the Greek script. I investigate the attitudes of Greek native speakers towards Engreek, its patterns of use, and the indexical and social meanings associated with it, that help shape the ideologies of this non-standard practice. By applying a mixed-methods approach, my research aims to determine the nature of Engreek, and to examine how the ideologies surrounding it, user attitudes, and patterns of use are interrelated.
