Eva is involved in educational research projects to help teachers, educational directors and other staff members evaluate and improve education at Leiden University. She also guides teachers in obtaining their BKO certificate and gives educational advice. Her background is in psychology and she has a special interest in topics connected to student wellbeing.
Eva graduated from Leiden University in 2010 with a degree in Developmental and Educational Psychology. She then worked for three years as an administrative information officer at the Administrative Office of Leiden University. From 2014, she worked for the Higher Education department of ICLON, which merged with the Leiden Learning and Innovation Centre in 2023. She has held various positions there. Since 2019, she has been working as an educational advisor and policy researcher. Until 2025, she combined this position with work for the Examination Service.
As an educational advisor, Eva advises and guides lecturers in higher education. One of Eva's key areas of expertise is the Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO). She provides substantive advice and guides lecturers in obtaining the BKO (portfolio guidance, lesson observations). As a policy researcher, she has been involved in various research projects in the field of quality assurance. Eva is also interested in the subject of student welfare and is involved in designing and delivering student mentor training courses.
