Anna D’Agostino is since 1 January 2023 connected to the Institute for Private Law as a PhD researcher in European private law.
Anna D'Agostino (1997) is a PhD researcher in European private law at the Leiden Institute of Private Law. Her research forms part of the project 'These Shoes Don't Fit! – How can consumer interests be protected when consumer identities are increasingly diffuse?' led by Prof. Vanessa Mak. Anna explores a re-conceptualisation of the consumer as a consumer-citizen and the role of consumer law in the pursuit of the societal goal of ecological sustainability.
Anna holds a master’s degree in Law from the University of Trento. During her studies she was an Erasmus+ student at the Maynooth University and a visiting scholar at the KU Leuven to carry out comparative research on collective redress. Anna is also interested in alternative dispute resolution and has co-authored an academic report for the European Commission on consumer ADR. Before starting her doctoral research, she was an assistant at BEUC (the European Consumer Organisation).
