Lemay Lab - Iontronics
Research in the Lemay Lab concentrates on Iontronics: the physics of mixed electronic-ionic charge transport.
Mixed electronic-ionic charge transport are processes at the heart of many of the technologies underpinning the ongoing electrification of society, including batteries, supercapacitors and a wide range of complex electrocatalysts.
Experiments are extremely challenging, however, because the relevant length scales are of the order of only a few nanometers. Our strategy relies primarily on lithography-based microfabrication supplemented with an array of nanoscale characterization techniques.
